So I just recently found out that a new Guitar Hero game is coming out. No, it's not Aerosmith; I've known about that for a while know. This one is Guitar Hero World Tour. It continues to use the guitar, but adds drums and a microphone. You may think that this is stealing from Rock Band, but this is better. Besides the snare pad, tom pads, and pedal are two cymbals. Another new feature is being able to create your own songs in real time. But due to copyrights, you can't add lyrics. You can also upload these songs to the web.
During Career mode, instead of having setlists, the player has a gig to play for with a choice of songs. The player can also drop to a lower difficulty if needed without having to start over. The Boss Battles will return with new bosses.
Their is also a new feature called "Create-a-Rocker", where you can customize your rocker. It is very similar to the system of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games. Drums and guitars are also customizable.
A new guitar is being developed because of changed gameplay mechanics and according to RedOctance, to "make the guitar as expressive as a real guitar."
The play is able to create their own songs in the "Advanced Studio" mode. The songs can be uploaded on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii to "GH Tunes" where other players can rate the songs. The player can upload five songs at first, but the better the rating, the more songs you can upload. The highest rated songs will be included in a Showcase alongside popular artists. New licensed songs will be available for download for the first time on the Wii.
According to the companies developing it and info leaks, some of the artists who's songs will be featured on the game are Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park, The Answer, Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Def Leppard, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol, and Muse, as well as others.
The game will be released on October 27th in the US and the 28th everywhere else for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii.
Also announced recently, Guitar Hero Metallica, and Guitar Hero Carbine for Mobile Phone.
